THE FIRST NEWSLETTER OF OUR 2024 SEASON
It’s been a while since our last update (4 months exactly!), but we’re thrilled to reconnect through our first newsletter of the 2024 safari season. Since reopening on 26th March, just in time for Easter, the lodge has been buzzing with guests and – well, yes – wildlife. The sightings around the lodge, and in the park, have been nothing short of extraordinary, perhaps owing to the unusually dry summer we’ve experienced here in Zambia.
Hang on tight, we’ve got a lot to cover!

Teeming Wildlife
The sightings thus far have been amazing, and as mentioned in the intro, this is likely attributed to dry conditions following minimal rainfall.
Don’t be fooled by the photo of our flooded deck; that was back in January! Since then, there has hardly been any rain, posing challenges for crops but setting the stage for an exhilarating game-viewing season.
The plains in the front of the lodge are now covered with lush green grass, and already welcoming big herds of elephants.
The Tailless prince
A new heartwarming children’s book written by Shadi Halliwell, inspired by her visit to Island Bush Camp.
